And Justice for All: Justice Sensitivity Explained

Although there are similarities between justice and rejection sensitivity, “they could not be collapsed into one single factor of interpersonal sensitivity, but both contributed independently to the prediction of depression, conduct problems, and low self‐esteem.”

Even so, justice and rejection sensitivity have a lot in common. RS and JS are “social-cognitive trait measures that may influence and explain interpersonal differences in response to situational factors.” But they aren’t the only ones.

The relationship between ADHD and justice sensitivity can be explained by the Cognitive-Behavioral Model of Adult ADHD which identifies how “ADHD symptoms lead to failure, underachievement, and problems in relationships.”

This “interaction pattern” caused by ADHD can results in a “vicious circle” of social calamity. As a result, “it can be assumed that persons with ADHD experience injustice and rejection more often than others, not only subjectively but also objectively.”

Before we get into this one, I’d just like to disclose my personal opinion that the term “identity politics” is dismissive, condescending bullshit. The fact that people from marginalized groups have a vested interest in collaborating to promote their own political interests is not “identity politics,” it’s self-advocacy.

And to preempt any bullshit, let me say that “white identity politics” is nothing but white supremacist concern trolling. White people have never had to self-advocate because we’ve always held power. If you’re advocating for the white race, you’re advocating for the status quo, which is unsustainable racism. Thank you for coming to my lecture.

Together, this result gives us a rough sketch of the personality profile for an average person* with untreated ADHD, based on the TCI and Cloninger’s biopsychosocial theory of personality. Taking all the previously mentioned caveats into consideration, also bear in mind that these descriptions include all of the subscales, so some traits described may be more or less relevant to you personally.

What that means is these descriptions won’t match you entirely, but you will definitely see yourself in there, for better or worse. And remember that the more negative aspects described below are largely explained by executive dysfunction.
